Issues when using licensed managed release (LM) of APDFL in a Docker container

This article applies only to the Licensed Managed (LM) release of APDFL, which requires a license file (apdfl.lic) to run.

Running the licensed managed (LM) release of APDFL in a Docker container might result in an exception, the most common of which is the error indicated below:

PDF Library Error: Error during initialization, Error number: 1073741825

The Licensed Managed (LM) release of APDFL requires a license file (apdfl.lic) to run. Online license files are node-locked and tied to a specific machine, and it periodically contacts the activation server. As a result, using the LM release of APDFL in a Docker container may lead to an exception or the error described above. 

To avoid this issue, customers with a current Datalogics license and maintenance agreement should use the non–Licensed Managed (non-LM) release of APDFL. Evaluators who are not current Datalogics customers may request an offline, non–node-locked license file by contacting evalsupport@datalogics.com.
