How can I convert EPS files to PDF within my application?

Estimated Reading Time: 1 Minutes

The Adobe PDF Library cannot read PostScript input files, including Encapsulated PostScript (EPS). So you will need to convert EPS documents to PDF before you want to apply them to your application.

If you want to convert a single EPS file into a PDF document, use Adobe Acrobat.

If you need to convert a large number of EPS files to PDF, or if using Adobe Acrobat is impractical, Datalogics recommends another product, PDF Converter.

PDF Converter allows you to add the ability to convert EPS to PDF and is available for the following platforms: Windows, Linux, LinuxARM, Mac and MacARM.

Note that you can also embed EPS content within a PDF document, in much the same way as you would embed a PNG screen shot image or a JPG photograph. But this EPS content will only appear when the PDF document is sent to a PostScript device for printing.
